Graeme

My name is Graeme Heap. I’ve been with Waterbridge since they began, and I’ve been with Lee White since 2016.

The company I worked for decided to make people redundant, and we could take drawdown pensions if we wanted to. They gave us some companies that we could go to for advice because I’m an engineer, not a financial adviser. One of them was the other company Lee worked with, and they were only in Penistone, so we went with them because it’s nearest to our home.

When Lee came to visit us at our home, he was very smart and very professional, and he was on time – we’re crazy about punctuality. It was very pleasant, and he made a lot of sense.

I was very nervous in the beginning about it all because it’s a big undertaking, but working with Lee gives you the confidence to move forward. He explains things in a lot of detail, and this helps you build confidence.

The piece of advice that Lee gave us that was very important was having a mortgage for the new house instead of using the pension fund, because the interest from the pension fund was greater than the interest paid on the mortgage.

The three words I’d use to describe my experience with Lee are patience, confidence, and trust.

Having Lee as our financial adviser, we’re very confident in him. He always answers the phone when we ring up, or if he’s in a meeting, he gets back straight after; he’s very reliable.

One of the best things about working with Lee is the confidence that he’s given us over the years; he has never, ever let us down.

Lee White and Waterbridge, I would recommend them, and I have done so to many people, both colleagues who I’ve worked with who wanted to retire after the age of 55, and family.
