Our principal product is simple: a more enjoyable future for our clients and their favourite people.

Pensions and investments aren’t new, but through gatekeeping and jargon they often feel like they’re off-limits to most people. We’re throwing the doors of the club wide open and creating a space that feels inclusive, positive, and never overwhelming. We’re independent, which means we’re not tied into particular providers. We draw from the host of services available to create the ideal package for each client.

We’re not here to blind people with technicalities. We explain things transparently and always focus on the benefit to our clients. Investment and pension solutions are dictated by initial advice and the client’s experience, knowledge, and appetite for investment risk. Ongoing service varies dependent on how complex the clients’ circumstances are and how much assistance they require.

You've got a destination.
Let's draw the map
.

You’ve got a bright future ahead. Whatever it looks like, and whoever you’re sharing it with, we can help you get there. Our packages comprise of pensions and investments, which are tax vehicles that allow us to offer different solutions to clients, depending on their lifestyle, resources, preferences, and goals.

Pensions

Pensions are the most popular way to save for your retirement. There are many forms of pensions, the most common being a tax-free scheme that you and often your employer pay into, from which you can draw a monthly income after you retire. If you wish to move a pension, start a new pension, or in any way alter your financial retirement plans, we’re here to help.

At Waterbridge we are conscious of the broad range of pensions on offer, and advise on what’s best for you, including personal, self-invested, workplace, final salary, drawdown, and other forms of pensions.

A workplace pension is set up by your employer and paid into by both you as the employee and the company you work for.

A personal pension is a saving product set up by the individual to save money for retirement. The value of the pension when you retire will depend on how much you’ve paid into it and how your investments perform.

A SIPP enables you to choose and manage your own investments or pay an independent financial adviser to do so on your behalf. You can make alterations to your investments as often as you want, choosing from a much broader range of investment options than other pension types.

Drawdown pensions leaves your pension fund invested after retirement, allowing it to continue to grow while you draw a regular income direct from the fund.

At Waterbridge we look at your precise circumstances and goals, and work closely with each client to create the perfect pension and investment package for them.

Let’s invest in your happiness.

Investments

Much like pensions, the type of investments we recommend to a client depend on individual circumstances and the individual’s appetite for risk. We offer solutions for ISAs, bonds, unit trusts, investment trusts, open-ended investment companies, discretionary services, and more.

ISAs (individual savings accounts) are tax-free savings or investment accounts that shield your money from income tax, tax on dividends, and capital gains tax. ISAs allow you to optimise the potential returns you make on your money.

Investing in bonds means lending money to a company or institution (who issues the bond) looking to raise funds, including governments. In return they pay you a fixed rate of interest (a coupon) and return the original sum after an agreed period of time (the maturity period).

A unit trust is a mutual fund where money is pooled and invested in shares, bonds, and other investments. The pool is then divided into equal portions called units, the value of which is based on that of all the assets held in the fund.

An investment trust is a public limited company that makes money by investing in other companies. Owning shares in an investment trust is a way of investing in a range of different companies, spreading both the risk and opportunity. Investment trusts are closed-ended, in that there’s a limited number of shares in existence, meaning that a buyer can only come in after a trust’s launch if an investor wants to sell their shares.

An open-ended investment company is like an investment trust except there are an unlimited number of shares. The pooled funds are spread across a wide range of investments, such as equities or fixed-interest securities.

Discretionary services is a form of investment management in which decisions to buy and sell are made by a portfolio manager for the client’s account, reducing risk by relying on an expert, rather than making your own investment choices in real time.

Pensions or Investments?

Our service is bespoke, taking into account your circumstances, resources, goals, and preferences. Very often this results in a combination of pensions and other investment options, packaged uniquely for you. The range of available investments and pension options is broad and highly customisable, so we would wait to speak with you before creating a personalised package of financial instruments.

Let us do the hard work – we’ll bring all our knowledge and skill together to discover the perfect pensions and investment fit for you.

Your pensions and investments journey.

Your first meeting will be with an adviser, which involves a 30 mins conversation around your objectives. We then research your current plans and independently analyse against alternatives, presenting our findings and offering solutions, after which we advise you spend some reflecting on what’s been proposed. Once you’re ready to move forward, we agree future strategies at a further meeting, and schedule a financial planning service to support you and your investments.
